WordCraft is a free, open-source word processor developed by ArtCraft. It runs in browsers without an account or mandatory cloud upload and can also be installed on Windows, macOS, Linux, and FreeBSD.
It supports opening and saving .docx files, importing and exporting .doc, .odt, .rtf, .html, .md, .tex, and .txt, and exporting searchable PDFs. Writing tools include formatting, styles, tables, navigation, spelling and grammar support, references, citations, footnotes, indexes, captions, themes, page layout, watermarks, borders, automatic hyphenation, and review features.
WordCraft is released under the MIT or Apache-2.0 license and offers scriptable commands through its ribbon, command-line interface, JSON control channel, and MCP server. It is designed with AI-ready automation in mind.
